Julian Fontaine Fox *
is a queer bi-racial creative and recent foundation grant winner who brings his unique perspective to his work. A passionate poet and longtime advocate for psychedelics, he believes storytelling is at the core of psychedelic medicine. His advocacy journey began at 19 following a life-changing psychedelic experience. While studying film in Santa Fe, he founded a chapter of SSDP and volunteered with Synergetic Press as a consultant and media advisor.
Now living in Boston, Julian was inspired by his partner to dive into the local psychedelic community. In the summer of 2023, he co-founded the Entheogen Melanin Collective (EMC), aiming to create a welcoming space for melanated people in a community that often lacks diversity. Through EMC, he focuses on community building and outreach, hosting events in predominantly melanated neighborhoods. These gatherings offer workshops on integration, healing, and education, where everyone can ask questions, share their stories, and find support. Though rooted in psychedelic practices, EMC emphasizes that these substances aren’t a one-size-fits-all solution, providing alternative healing modalities to ensure inclusivity for all.
